Stylebot got its start at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism as a way to make editing more accessible and intuitive for the next generation of media professionals. Laura founded Stylebot after noticing that her students at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism weren’t engaging with the editing resources that have been offered at journalism schools for decades. As a journalist who spent her career working at the intersection of breaking news, product and audience engagement, she understands firsthand how the demands of today’s rapidly evolving media landscape mean that everyone in a newsroom needs fast, reliable answers to editing and style questions. She designed Stylebot to make both the content and user experience more accessible to anyone who writes content for an outside audience. In addition to running Stylebot, Laura continues to teach at USC Annenberg, where evolving the guide that powers Stylebot is part of her work.
Vishal is leading the Stylebot team in carving new paths in chatbot technology, bringing more than 15 years’ experience in system architecture, business intelligence and web technologies for top companies and startups. His search for impactful, customer-obsessed SaaS products led him to Stylebot. He believes in empowering his team to be effective collaborators and creative thinkers.
